We hope you are as excited as we are about the Pirate Summit. Here are the pitching rules we just sent out to the pitch startups. The semi finals of the “Walk the Plank” pitch competition are happening on Sept. 2nd from 10:30AM to 6:30PM on the Captain’s Deck. The best two startups from each session (seven sessions á 10 startups) will proceed to the finals on Sept. 3rd (5 – 6PM).
The pitching rules:
Time on stage:
You have three minutes (180 secs) to pitch and two minutes (120 seconds) for Q&A afterwards – the same timing you’re used to from Pirates on Shore.
Pitch deck format & deadline:
Accepted formats are PPT(x) and PDF, no Keynote etc.. The absolute deadline for sending your deck is August 25th, 11:59PM. If I don’t receive it until then, you are disqualified from pitching. Here is a good example of how a proper pitch deck could look like.
Hardware & tools:
You won’t need to bring your own laptop or a presenter on stage. Your deck will be ready and tested on our hardware.
Up to four jurors will judge each pitch session (9-10 Startups per session) – all of them are actively looking for hot deals and are investing from seed to series A (incl. follow-ups). Please keep your answers in the Q&A session as precise & short as possible.
Business Model, Market, Product, Team, Traction/Growth
Once the startups are done on stage, they’ll commence with 30-minute mentoring sessions from successful entrepreneurs (all of them with sales/fundraising success with 5+ mio EUR), investors and internationally known experts.
We can’t wait to have these startups in Cologne soon – ARRR!
BTW: We have a few tickets left. If you want to attend, please apply asap!
