In 2012 in August Ramin G. Far presented the comparison engine Versus at “Pirate Summit meets Geek On A Plane” at the Factory Berlin. Now that almost two years have passed we found it is time to let you know what has happened to the startup ever since.
Another comparison platform you’re asking? Well, yeah, another one – but that one’s different. Versus has been designed to compare two products, services, cities, or even real estate only based on the ‘hard facts’. Fill in the mask, hit the compare button and there it is: probably the most efficient and easily understandable answer you’ll get. Based on technical specifications or other objective criteria users will find out whether option A or option B is better.
“Geeks On A Plane” in Berlin turned out to be a starting point for the app. Being on the way home Ramin received a phone call telling him to get back immediately. Dave McClure from 500 Startups, whom Ramin had pitched to, wanted to talk to him about investing in Versus. And that’s what he did. Since then the site has been gaining users constantly. The latest published numbers show an increase of 30% in traffic each month. And the team behind versus is further challenging themselves. The idea and the spirit behind also fascinated other parties with money. Ramin raised $3.8M in total from Earlybird, 500 Startups, High-Tech-Gründerfonds, JMES Investments and others.
Your ideas can get big as well. Maybe this year’s Pirate Summit is the right place and time for you.
