Recently we talked to Michele Silletti, CEO of ringpay, who walked the plank at Pirate Summit 2013. Turns out, also for him the day in Cologne was a lucky one. He met Cristina Bonaccurso, they connected, became a team and only a few months later they presented an alpha version of their project at Level39 in London.
But Pirate Summit not only made a team out of Michele and Cristina, also they connected with a lot of great advisors and investors, set up collaborations they have been using ever since and got inspired by other speakers and presentations themselves.
Nearly everything has changed since then, at least business wise. Their initial plan, however, is still the same. With ringpay they provide a quick and safe mobile payment solution that makes a wallet or a POS out of your phone. Customers and merchants are being connected through the app one-to-one. Thus ringpay is a huge marketing opportunity for merchants in terms of loyalty programs, special offers or customer care. The app enables conversations and understanding individual customer needs.
And there is more to it. The team also developed an app called Charing that allows you to purchase tickets for events, sales and even to fundraise sponsoring for local non-profit organizations or charities in a simple and social way within two taps.
You can be one of our success stories, too. Our call for papers for this year’s Pirate Summit is still open.
